Open access and licensing
IJKR is a fully open-access journal. Every article is free to read, download, and redistribute from the moment of publication, with no subscription, registration, or embargo period.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. Anyone may copy, distribute, adapt, and build upon the work, including commercially, provided the original authors and the source are credited and any changes are indicated.
Third-party material reproduced in an article remains under its own licence; authors must obtain and document permission before submission.
- The publisher applies a machine-readable licence statement to every article's metadata.
- Authors may deposit the published version in any institutional or subject repository immediately, without embargo.
- Text and data mining of the full corpus is permitted.
Copyright retention
Authors retain full copyright in their work. IJKR does not require a transfer of copyright at any stage.
On acceptance, the corresponding author signs a publishing licence granting IJKR the non-exclusive right to publish, distribute, and archive the article, and confirming that it is released under CC BY 4.0. Authors are free to reuse their own work in teaching, thesis, and future publications with a citation to the version of record.
Digital archiving and preservation
The scholarly record must outlast the journal that produced it. IJKR therefore maintains the following measures for the version of record:
- ·A registered DOI for every article, with metadata deposited at publication and kept current.
- ·Enrolment in a recognised dark archive or distributed preservation service, so that content remains accessible if the journal ceases to publish.
- ·Full-text PDF and structured metadata retained in redundant, geographically separated storage.
- ·Stable, permanent URLs; article pages and PDFs are never removed or relocated without a redirect.
- ·Authors are additionally encouraged to self-archive in an institutional repository.
Preservation arrangements will be named on this page once the service agreement is executed. No preservation claim is made before then.
Appeals and complaints
Appealing a decision
- Send an appeal to editor@ijkr.org within 30 days of the decision, quoting the manuscript reference.
- State specifically which reviewer or editorial point is factually mistaken, with evidence. Disagreement alone is not a ground for appeal.
- The Editor-in-Chief, or an uninvolved editor, reviews the file and may seek a further independent opinion.
- The outcome is communicated in writing, normally within four weeks. Appeal decisions are final; a manuscript may be appealed once.
Complaints
Complaints about editorial process, conduct, delay, or the handling of an ethics case should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief. Complaints concerning the Editor-in-Chief are handled by a nominated senior board member with no involvement in the matter.
Acknowledgement within five working days; substantive response within four weeks.
Advertising, sponsorship, and reprints
IJKR carries no advertising. The journal does not sell display advertising, sponsored articles, supplements, mailing-list access, or reader data, and does not accept payment for editorial placement or prominence.
If institutional or scholarly-society support is accepted in future to cover operating costs, the supporter will be named on this page, and the arrangement will explicitly exclude any influence over editorial decisions.
Fees and editorial independence
There is no submission fee, no article processing charge, no page or colour charge, and no fee for open-access publication or for withdrawal. Authors are never invoiced.
It follows that no editorial decision can be influenced by payment: acceptance, rejection, revision, and publication order are determined by peer review and editorial judgement alone. Anyone who receives a request for payment purporting to come from IJKR should treat it as fraudulent and report it to editor@ijkr.org.
Corresponding policies
Preprints
Posting a preprint on a recognised server is permitted and must be disclosed at submission with its DOI. The published article will link to it.
Data and code sharing
Deposit in a public repository with a persistent identifier is strongly encouraged; a data availability statement is mandatory.
Withdrawal
Authors may withdraw a manuscript at any time before acceptance, free of charge, by written notice from the corresponding author.
Privacy
Personal data supplied at submission is used only for editorial purposes, is never sold, and is retained no longer than the editorial record requires.
