Aims & Scope

The editorial remit of the International Journal of Knowledge and Research, the disciplines it covers, and the article types it accepts.

Mission statement

The International Journal of Knowledge and Research (IJKR) exists to publish and preserve carefully conducted research in computing, engineering, and the applied sciences, and to make that research freely available to any reader anywhere. The journal was founded on the premise that scholarly value is established by method and evidence, not by speed of publication or willingness to pay.

IJKR therefore commits to three things: transparent double-blind assessment by qualified reviewers, editorial decisions made independently of any commercial consideration, and a permanent, openly licensed version of record for every accepted article.

Editorial objective

The journal seeks manuscripts that make a defensible contribution to knowledge and report it in a form another researcher could evaluate or reproduce. In practice, the editors prioritise:

  • 01Methodological soundness. A clearly stated research question, an appropriate design, and analysis proportionate to the evidence.
  • 02Reproducibility. Sufficient methodological detail, and data, code, or protocols shared wherever ethics and licensing allow.
  • 03Honest reporting. Explicit limitations, negative or null results where methodologically sound, and no overstatement of significance.
  • 04Scholarly context. Engagement with the relevant prior literature, including work that contradicts the authors' findings.
  • 05Clarity. Writing that a competent reader outside the immediate specialism can follow.

Subject coverage

Coverage is organised in two levels. The five main tracks (A–E) are the major disciplines; the items listed inside each are sub-tracks — the minor discipline used to route your manuscript.

At submission you select one main track and one sub-track. The sub-track determines which subject editor takes the manuscript and which reviewer pool is searched, so choose it precisely rather than broadly.

Interdisciplinary work may additionally nominate a secondary discipline from any other track; one of the two reviewers is then drawn from that area. If nothing listed fits, write to the editor before submitting rather than forcing the nearest option.
